The Vagabloggers Go Skydiving!

The sun works it way slowly toward the western horizon casting long shadows and a warm glow across the fields and winding road.  Acres of corn and various other crops drift by on either side only to be broken by the occasional farmhouse or weather-worn barn.  While picking and scratching nervously at my new collection of mosquito bites, my eyes shift from the road to the sky where I see the pale moon already showing itself against the still blue sky when suddenly it all sets in... we're going skydiving tomorrow.

We frantically grab any visible absorbent materials and pull over to assess the situation. Meisha's nose has never been a fan of dramatic altitude changes and doesn't seem to appreciate the drop from 10,000 to 5,000 feet.

This little incident is finally enough to convince us to do the unthinkable.

The Unclarity of Clear Creek

Why do I even enjoy or entertain the thought of climbing?  Increasingly I find myself puzzled of my desire, when I often have exasperating days of failure.  Is it really the want to feel the rock as I scale the crags, a knowing that it is something I can accomplish, or merely the need to put myself up for personal collapse and self loathing?

Sometimes I believe it’s only a way to put myself down, but the emotional occurrences brought when your feet are flat on the ground after topping a route can be amazingly speechless.  Beyond almost anything I have ever encountered in my accomplishments of other medians. Read more

Sonic Bloom 2011: 3 Days of Enlightenment and Insanity

As we walk through the gates, the familiar scents of sage and Nag Champa fill the air.  Dreadlocked hippies and neon-clad hipsters mingle amongst other concert-goers sporting elven and animal inspired garb.   The crisp Colorado mountain air fills with cottonwood and as we start to soak it all in we realize... this is going to be pure insanity.  Welcome to Sonic Bloom.
