Midnight Hiking and Moonlight Worship on the Bonneville Shoreline Trail

It all began on a hot, dry, and dusty afternoon in the foothills of Ogden, Utah.  We had been told about the "must do" hike called Waterfall Canyon.  After a lackadaisical start to the morning, our hike didn't begin until around 1PM.  By that time, temps had risen near 100 degrees fahrenheit and the sun was beating down upon the valley.  After a good 10 minutes of hiking the trail we realized something: this was stupid and it wasn't fun.   We opted to head back to base camp and decided later to try a little (mostly) full moon hiking.   Read more

Eating SNAILS in Denver?

Yep.  You read right.  While in Denver, we had the pleasure of reuniting with one of our best friends from our time in St. Louis, Zoe, from the travel/food blog Hungry Wanderlust.  Zoe is a wonderfully talented cook and is always more than happy to prepare and share meals with friends.  While perusing the local Asian Market for ingredients for Vietnamese Pancakes, we came across some "live snails".   Read more

Free Day at the Denver Botanic Gardens

As often as possible, we tend to look for free things to do. Well, it turns out we had good timing this time around in Denver. The Denver Botanic Gardens just so happened to have a FREE ADMISSION DAY! We packed up our camera and our friend Steve and headed for the gardens. We found the Gardens to be a nice place to take a stroll for the evening and imagined it'd be a great place to have a picnic or simply sit and read while enjoying the surrounding plant life.
